Many peo­ple are scared of the den­tist, so the impor­tant thing to remem­ber is that you aren’t alone. It’s impor­tant not to let your fear of the den­tist stand in the way of your oral health. When you’re ready to over­come your den­tal pho­bia, we’ll be here to help you.

There are lots of steps we can take to make a trip to the dentist less scary for our patients. The first thing to remember is that procedures should never hurt. If you have had a painful procedure in the past, let us know so we can pay close attention to your local anaesthetic. Some people need more local anaesthetic to block the nerves, so we can work with you to find this balance.

Communicating with your dentist is one of the best ways to overcome your fear. Let them know what you are concerned about so they can adjust your treatment according to this information. For example, if you just want to know what is happening, our team can communicate throughout the treatment to let you know what to expect. But if you'd rather switch off and think about something else, you could wear headphones during the treatment to help you to relax.

  • I have just finished a long treatment plan at The Implant and Cosmetic Smiles Clinic with Dr. Bakhshi and I'm so glad that I found this practice! Due to a failed root canal and damage to my tooth root at another practice, I had to have an extraction, jaw bone graft, and dental implant here. I was really nervous due to the bad experience at my previous dentist but I couldn't have been in better hands. It was a long process (approx 1 year) but I appreciated that they really took their time to get it right and let everything heal properly inbetween appointments for the best result possible rather than just getting you in and out as quick as possible. The practice is clean and welcoming, Dr. Bakhshi was brilliant and put me at ease, and the treatment went perfectly! During the course of my treatment plan I actually moved to Newcastle but I drove back for every single one of my appointments, that's how brilliant they are! Special shout out to Kirsty and Roxana for being SO welcoming and brilliant at their jobs too - even if it had been months between appointments they recognised me every time and asked how my journey back had been, how was my holiday etc...WOULD NOT hesitate to return here and I'm gutted I live so far away now as I would absolutely have stayed a patient here forever if I hadn't!

  • Just finished having a new implant. Dr Aryan and his team were excellent. The reception team are also first class. As a senior citizen I was a little anxious about the procedure but need not have worried. I have no hesitation in recommending this Dental Clinic.

The process was a great experience and team and dentist were so helpful through out the months as I removed all my old top teeth and had a whole new set on top.
